Cole made new sales manager, Siemens Building Technologies

Mike Cole has been appointed UK sales manager for Siemens Building Technologies' Security Products division.

Cole has 23 years of sales experience in the security industry, and Siemens says he has "earned himself an excellent reputation as a knowledgeable professional in all product areas within the industry".

Based at the company's UK headquarters in Staines, Cole is responsible for the national team of security sales personnel, which he will be expanding in future.

"I was attracted to the position at Siemens because they have a great new product range to take into the market place," Cole said. "Whilst Siemens' Security Products division is very well established in Switzerland and Germany, here in the UK it is still relatively young, but with these products we have a big opportunity to develop a strong market share.

Dowshu goes Green

Paul Green has been appointed Product Manager at Dowshu. Green joined the company in 2002 as account manager, having previously worked for Honeywell.

Dowshu says he "has been systematically gaining vital experience in staff and customer management, getting involved in product training and continually building on his in-depth knowledge of the Dowshu DVR range".

"I will be supporting our growing sales team and customer base and guiding our product development and manufacturing teams," Green said.

Dowshu CEO Glen Higson said Green had been selected for the position thanks to his "excellent customer relations, outstanding technical ability and detailed product application experience".

Changes at Auriga

Auriga (Europe) Plc, the Milton Keynes-based distributor of structured cabling, networking systems and accessories, has announced two new appointments to its distribution business board.

Sarah Wetton is the new sales director. Wetton joined Auriga in 2001 and has been a major player in driving business forward, contributing to the growth of the company.

Colin Jarvis-Pearson becomes purchasing director for the company.

"In a little under three years after joining the company, Colin has introduced measures that have greatly improved customer service and improved relationships with vendors," managing director Graham Lipson said.

AI changes at Mul-T-Lock

Following Assa Abloy's acquisition of the Nemef and Corbin companies, their sales departments have been transferred to Mul-T-Lock UK, and a new AI Division has been established. Clive Stone becomes the new national sales manager for the division, Steve Edgley is the new technical sales manager, while Mike Waddington becomes the regional manager for the AI division in the north.

Martin moves to G4Tec

Group 4 Technology has hired Darren Martin as its UK marketing manager. He will manage marketing activities for the G4Tec UK systems business, perform marketing research, and analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Martin reports to the company's vice president of marketing, Kim Loy.

He was previously marketing manager at Bewator, where he implemented a UK marketing strategy, supported sales staff, and developed marketing communications programmes in advertising, public relations, website and event planning.

Marchant a Certainty

Andrew Marchant has been appointed managing director of Certainty Security. Marchant was previously the group sales and marketing director at the company, and before that he worked for Chubb fire.

"It's a really exciting time for Certainty Security," Marchant said. "Our success over recent years together with the restructure of the business will allow us to deliver broader choice and focus on improved service to our customers, giving us a significant opportunity to consolidate our position as one of the leading security solutions providers in the UK."

Technical expansion

COE Group has expanded its technical team with the appointment of Abhishek Khurana as product manager. He will be working closely with CTO Mark Marriage to develop COE's range of video network solutions for integrators and end users in traffic management and surveillance for urban, rail, light rail, airport and seaport schemes. He has worked in India and Europe for high tech companies in the IT networking and consumer goods industries.

Axis develops business

Axis Communications has boosted its UK team with the appointment of Nick Platt-Higgins as UK business development manager. He will be responsible for developing the business within the CCTV and IT integrator communities.

Other areas of responsibility will include extending both the Axis Channel Partner Programme and the Axis Academy initiative, designed to educate new integrators and installers about IP surveillance.

Distribution move

Hisec International has appointed Jorgen Bo Krogh as its new international sales manager. Krogh will manage Hisec distributors internationally, and work to expand the company's international dealer network. He reports to Hisec managing director Martin Hildebrandt, and is experienced in establishing dealer networks worldwide within the electronics industry.

Flynn steps in

Daryn Flynn is the new senior account manager for the British security market at Nedap. He joins the team with a focus on enlarging the AEOS market share in the UK as well as supporting Nedap's AEOS partners. Flynn has been active in the UK security market for 15 years, working with installers and manufacturers.

Dean of marketing

Samantha Dean has become marketing communications manager for Bosch Security Systems UK, following the recent appointment of managing director Jeremy Hockham. Dean is responsible for all advertising, PR, exhibitions, newsletters and general publicity. The marketing team has also been expanded to include Leigh Hutchinson and Christine Cooper as marketing account support executives.

Complus move

Complus Teltronic's sales and mark-eting departments have moved to a new building in Harlow, Essex. The two storey building provides the company with many modern amenities, plus a meeting room for workshops and training. Harlow has connections to London, Stansted Airport, and the M11 and M25.
