CCTV specialist Dedicated Micros has appointed Malcolm White as its new managing director. Malcolm – who will oversee the company’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia – boasts a PhD in physics from Imperial College, London. After a spell at the Rutherford Laboratory in Oxfordshire leading the laser development team, Malcolm joined Ferranti and then GEC in Edinburgh. He joins from Electrox, a company specialising in industrial marking equipment.
Michael Jasper – former head of risk at The British Library and a member of SMT’s Editorial Advisory Board – has formed his own security consultancy (the Michael Jasper Consultancy). The company is offering security training, risk management and business continuity advice as well as emergency planning and security consultation. Bosch Security Systems has announced the appointment of Jeremy Hockham as the company’s new managing director. Previously the international managing director at the Honeywell Group, Jeremy – who holds First Class Honours and Masters degrees in engineering – brings over 15 years’ experience of general management to the role. His task will be to build on the company’s brand name, and accelerate its growth in the UK.
The first appointment to the Time and Data Systems International (TDSi) team following the management buy-out from Upperpoint last March. Mike Fleck takes on the role of business development director. He joins from Poole-based Zellweger Analytics, where he grew business from a turnover of £800,000 to over £9 million. Mike holds a Masters degree in business administration, and is also a Fellow of the Sales and Marketing Institute.
Following manned security contractor SectorGuard’s recent expansion in the Midlands, and its acquisition of Grantham-based Nationwide (GB) Ltd, the company has now appointed Lee Adams as business development executive for the East Midlands region. Lee has more than 20 years’ experience of selling business-to-business services, which is ideal for the role.
Genie CCTV – specialist in the supply of surveillance camera systems and accessories – has appointed Pete Grainger as its LG product sales manager. Reporting directly to Steve Baker, the company’s managing director, Pete’s key role will be to manage the sale of products in the UK and Ireland. Grainger brings a proven track record to the position, having previously worked for Chubb Electronic Security, CSD Professional and Alarm Express. The company has also appointed Alison Middleton – former senior service sales consultant at ADT Fire and Security – as sales manager.
Georg Magg is the new managing director at Articon-Integralis, now established as one of Europe’s largest security systems integrators enabling end users to conduct secure communications and e-commerce transactions via public and private networks. Magg had been responsible for operations in Germany, Switzerland and France. Graham Jones – Integralis’ director of UK operations – will now look after the organisation’s affairs in the US as well as the UK.
Payne Security – one of the UK’s market leaders in the area of personal ID systems – has made several key appointments at its hq in Mold, Flintshire. John Mills has been promoted to director of sales for ID solutions, while Andy Roberts takes over as UK sales manager. Emma Knox, former sales and marketing executive at the company, will now head up the personal ID marketing team in the role of marketing manager.
Mowlem plc has appointed Alistair Nelson as sales and marketing director of Mowlem Pall Mall, the cleaning and security division of Mowlem Managed Services. Alistair joins the company after 12 years with Rentokil Initial, the last three years of which were spent as general manager of multi-services and outsourcing within the plc.
Biometric systems developer and analyst OmniPerception has appointed Charles Wilhelm as a non-executive director and principal advisor on American affairs. Wilhelm retired from the US Marine Corps in 2000 having served for 37 years. His last appointment in active service was as Commander-in-Chief of the United States Southern Command in Miami, Florida, where he assumed direct responsibility for US military activities in the 32 nations of the Caribbean and Central and Southern America.
Panasonic Premier Installer Zoom CCTV of Cheshire has expanded and restructured its sales and design team under the guidance of sales director Dave Huxley. Andy Dodd has joined from the ID Group as technical sales executive, renewing his acquaintance with systems designer Alan Steadman who was also at ID. Former Clear Image sales executive Chris Flemming is also joining the team with immediate effect.
Bosch Security Systems has appointed three area sales managers to cover the North, the Midlands and the South West. James Gilligan will be looking after the North West and North East regions. He was previously a director of Rowtech Professional Security, a major systems integrator. In charge of the West Midlands is Martin Hill, the former sales manager at Harper Chalice. Martin has also worked for Security Enclosures (now Optex) and Plettac. Regional area manager for the South West and Wales is Gavin Jones, who has gained four years’ experience to date with CCTV and access control solutions develop Bewator.
Steve Rogerson has assumed the role of engineering services director at Reflex to harness all new technologies. The new sales team includes account managers Helen Phillips, Andrew Stiller and Dave Shelton.
