Perpetuity Research and Consultancy International – the spin-out company formed by former Scarman Centre director Professor Martin Gill at the University of Leicester – has announced the appointment of Dr Tim Pascoe to the research team. Formerly a business director at the BRE, Dr Pascoe has an MSc and PhD in crime risk management.
A specialist in the area of designing-out crime, Dr Pascoe will now assist in the opening of a southern regional office to satisfy contracted research demands.
Scott Gibbon has been appointed branch manager at Initial Electronic Security's base in Dyce – one of the busiest branches for the company in northern Scotland. Part of Rentokil Initial, the business provides intruder and fire alarms, CCTV and access control systems for end users in the commercial sector. 42-year-old Gibbon is now tasked with broadening available product ranges and targeting new clients to add to the existing customer base.
Access control, CCTV and integrated security solutions specialist First City Care has appointed Brian Beetwell as senior project manager and Paula Wells as client liaison manager. After 26 years in the industry, including 14 years at ADT, Brian will now co-ordinate and manage the sales, installation and maintenance functions. Meantime, Paula will provide full support for the company's sales and marketing drive. Both appointments are part of a concerted programme to expand the management team.
Robert Chandler is the new southern area sales manager at Vicon Industries. Robert – who has been working within the electronic security industry for 14 years – began his career with Modern Alarms, but for the past four years has been with PI Vision. He boasts an extensive knowledge of digital recording and transmission technologies with which to educate the end user.
CCTV lighting solutions developer Derwent Systems has appointed Shona Newton to the newly-created post of export sales executive. Shona – who is fluent in both German and French – will support the growing international customer base for the company's infrared illumination and number plate capture products in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Far East.
Joseph Grillo, the president and chief executive officer of the Assa Abloy Identification Technology Group, has been promoted to executive vice-president of parent company Assa Abloy AB. Grillo joined the HID Corporation as national sales manager back in 1993. He was promoted to executive vice-president of sales and marketing in 1999, and chief operating officer in 2000. In January of the following year, Grillo was named president and chief executive officer of the HID Corporation when the organisation was acquired by Assa Abloy.
Underpinning the company's strategy to continue its rapid growth and uptake of unshielded twisted pair cable video transmission products, Network Video Technologies has just appointed former sales manager Steve Proctor as UK sales director. Steve will be looking to further establish NVT's leading quality brand and technical support service. American Fibertek has announced the appointment of Ray Sooley to the position of vice-president of sales. The company is a leading supplier of innovative fibre optic communication transmission solutions for secure video, data and audio system applications. With over 25 years' experience in the industry – including 16 years spent working in the CCTV sector – Ray was formerly employed at Ademco Video where he was responsible for applications engineering and technical support. He'll now take charge of managing Fibertek's network of sales representatives, initiating new sales programmes.
