Ruth Burton, who formerly worked for a computer company, has been made regeneration manager for the South-east.Name
Balbir Chatrik
New job
Head of external affairs, Centrepoint
Old job
Policy adviser, children and young people’s unit at Centrepoint
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Centrepoint puts young people at the heart of what it does, so I get to talk to lots of young people using our services. The most memorable thing, though, was going back to my home town to make a speech – with my parents in the audience.
Any advice for someone moving into the sector?
Don’t think of it as a separate sector: housing now should include economic and social inclusion, and regeneration.
