Security solutions provider Complete Property Security (CPS) has announced the appointment of Bill Farrow as business development manager for the manned guarding division of the CPS Group of Companies. Prior to joining CPS, Bill was operations director for a major London-based contractor where he played a major part in developing the business from 40 to 1,600 security personnel over a 15-year period. He is particularly well versed in security officer vetting and training.
Securicor Security's new director of retail is Daniel Dallat. Daniel joined the company in 2002 as strategic account director (retail). Prior to this, he'd worked in a number of senior management positions in the telecoms industry and at Rentokil Initial (where he was named Sales Manager of the Year in 1999). Daniel's new post involves bringing together Securicor's retail sales and operational structures.
Andrew Sieradzki, security consultant with Buro Happold ITAC, has been accepted as a member of the Association of Security Consultants. Working within ITAC – Buro Happold's emerging technologies group, which provides expertise in systems and security for the built environment – Andrew specialises in electronic systems design and specification (including CCTV and access control).
Lord Condon QPM DL – a non-executive director of Securicor and former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police – is the new president of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA). He succeeds the late Peter Smith, and takes on the post for a three-year term. The BSIA has also appointed Jim Harrower, the recently-retired group chief operating officer at Group 4 Falck, as vice-chairman for 12 months before he takes on the Association's chairmanship.
Charles Langlands Pearse has been appointed regional security director for Europe, the Middle East, Russia and Southern Africa by International SOS, the leading provider of global medical and security assistance to blue chip clients. Langlands Pearse, who succeeds Tom Major, joined the organisation in September 2000, and has had extensive experience of security operations, site survey work and client management.
Risk Management – the specialist provider of static manned guarding, patrol officers and remote monitoring services for blue chip clients in the Thames Valley and London regions – has introduced a new sales department. Nobel Sampson takes on the role of sales manager, while John Nicholson and Graham Tilley (who has been with Risk Management for the past eight years) are the organisation's business development managers.
Global video network concern COE has appointed a chief financial officer to help steer the organisation's growth as a public company. Michael Sandpearl joins COE – newly-listed on the Alternative Investment Market – as the company plans continued expansion with CCTV-based transport management and city centre surveillance projects across Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.
Colin Milner is the next managing director at TSSI, the biometric security systems developer. Colin will report to Dr Ashok Vaidya, who has taken on the role of TSSI chairman and continues with his responsibilities as a director of Scipher. Colin was previously managing director of Emergent Systems Solutions, a UK-based consultancy advising companies worldwide on automatic identification and data capture, remote tagging and mobile computing.
Following on from a period of significant growth, access and video control system designer Bewator has expanded its sales force. Paul Taylor joins the firm as regional manager (access control) for the Northern region, while Jim Thurgood is area sales manager for the same division in the Midlands. Perrin Copper joins the video control team as head of area sales for the Midlands and Ireland. These appointments follow the creation of two new roles for Magali Epin (product marketing manager, video control) and Darren Martin, who fulfils the same task for the access control section.
Peter Lowe has been promoted to chief technology officer for the ASSA Abloy Identification Technology Group (ITG). In this new role, Peter will be involved in providing direction and advice on all access control/ID technology-related issues within ITG, identifying new product opportunities for both existing and developing markets.
Blick plc – the leading provider of product and service solutions to the security, time management and communication sectors – has announced the appointment of David Probert as group director of new product development. David has a wealth of experience in senior roles, having started his career at British Telecom before moving to the Digital Equipment Corporation. He joins Blick from Madge Networks, where he has been vice-president of product development for the past two years.
Asset/security tag/label and auditing concern Kodit Database has appointed Claire Roscoe in the role of sales consultant. Kodit was formed back in 1990, and has since experienced rapid growth thanks to clients in the insurance, banking and education sectors. Major customers include HM Customs and Excise, the Ministry of Defence, Apple Computers, ICI and the Ford Motor Company.
Following the successful growth in business at TEB during the past two years, the London-based company has announced the appointment of Richard Ambler as regional sales manager in the UK. Richard will assume responsibility for sales development of TEB products, including the range of TUB moveable CCTV cameras for end users.
