Davis Langdon has added five new staff to its Peterborough office, bringing the team there to 42 people. New starters include Mandy Ashpool who joined earlier this year as business development manager with responsibility for tender documents and raising the firm's profile in the region and Byron Hanslo who joins the firm's project management team. John-Paul Morza, Jason Wilson and Ryan Dodd have joined as trainee quantity surveyors. All three are completing a part time course for an RICS accredited degree at Nottingham Trent University. Sense Cost Consultancy has promoted four people to board level. They are Ian Blakeman, who specilaises in M&E and data centres, Nick Eliot, who works on accouonts with UBS, Morgan Stanley and British Land, Steve Gillingham, who is based in Manchester and works on Building Schools for the Future schemes, and Steve Mason, who focuses on clients of parent company Mace, including its work on the Olympic Aquatic Centre. Head of Sense Chris Goldthorpe said: "The guys demonstrated their faith in me when we set up the business two and ahlf years ago and I'm delighted to be able to repay that faith."

An expert in delivering retail projects has joined EC Harris as it continues to expand its retail team. Jerry Young, formerly with design and project management consultancy Zebra Projects, has joined the retail team as senior retail consultant.
