Oltec group holdings ltd – the owner of Wigan-based guarding services provider Antec Security – has acquired well-established contractor Frances Clarke and promptly announced the name and corporate identity of its all-new Security Division. The AFC Group is now the collective title for the combined guarding concern.

Operating within the UK and the Republic of Ireland, the AFC Group will employ in excess of 1,200 security operatives and boast a turnover of over £20 million – rendering the operation a Top 20 player in the Infologue.com listings.

The buy-out and merger is in line with Oltec’s aim of becoming “one of the largest ‘retail only’ security specialists in the UK” with vast experience in the spheres of retail warehousing, distribution and logistics security provision.

Following the news, former Frances Clarke managing director Steve Haskins has taken the position of Group managing director for the new company with a firm commitment to “customer care, service delivery and staff welfare” (including the “smooth implementation of SIA licensing”).
