In the recently published Sunday Times Top Track 250 Anglian Group was 15th, generating £305.3 million turnover last year, and the Epwin Group, 134th with £182.4m.

The Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain’s bigggest mid-market private companies by latest sales. It complements the Top Track 100 biggest private companies, and lists the next 101 to 350 firms.

Top spot goes to Deans Foods, an egg producer which turned over £336.8m in 2004. Now that’s a lot of eggs.
