The selection of a self-contained plantroom for an upgrade at Kingshill Primary School in Walsall allowed the installation to be completed during term-time and faster than traditional methods.

Walsall council has 157 schools under its jurisdiction; Traditionally, most m&e services upgrades must be carried out during the six-week summer holidays. This can overstretch council resources and local contractors, which led to the need to seek another solution. Here, the plantroom arrived ready for final connections to be made.

This was the third prefab plantroom supplied to the council by Armstrong Integrated Systems. It was designed and pre-assembled at the firm’s factory in Halesowen, West Midlands. Installation was carried out by the Walsall Council Establishment Team.
