All things Brighton: This Cartwright Pickard-designed scheme by Urban Catalyst is one of four design options being considered by Brighton & Hove councillors for the derelict Preston barracks site. It is vying with proposals from consortia CDHA, RokEagle and Urban Life.
The 2.28 ha site will include 260 homes – 110 of them affordable – as well as space for 1100 jobs, community facilities and a 26-storey tower.
The council's director of finance, Simon Burgess, said: "This is quite possibly the most exciting group of designs for East Brighton that we've seen."
The winning design will be chosen at the end of December.
