Heritage Glass Group has won the West Midlands’ Age Positive Award, a government led initiative, which received entries from companies throughout the UK.

The awards honour organisations which defy ageist stereotypes and employ a mixed-age workforce, making use of their skills and experiences.

Sales Director Tony Randall and wife Deborah attended the presentation ceremony at Whitehall in London. Angela Ripon and the Minister of Pensions Reform, James Purnell, presented the award.

Heritage Glass, which is an Age Positive Champion organisation, was invited to take part in a closed door debate about ageism in the work place with the Minister and other key commentators at Covent Garden. The event, chaired by journalist Joan Bakewell, offered people throughout the UK the opportunity to put questions to the panel about the positives and negatives of employing a mixed aged workforce.

Sales Director, Tony Randall said: 'I’m delighted that Heritage Glass has won this award for a second time'.

The award follows an article published in the Daily Telegraph which looked at Heritage Glass and their aging workforce policies.
