Plans are in hand for a £3.15 million Jerwood Centre extension at one of Cumbria's most popular visitor attractions, Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum – and priceless exhibits will be protected by ADT Fire and Security.
The three-storey building is due to house the Wordsworth Trust's most prized collection, including around 50,000 letters, books, manuscripts, paintings and drawings.

This is set to be an addition to the existing attraction Dove Cottage, which was the home of the poet William Wordsworth. The attraction was recently voted Cumbria's best small tourist attraction.

ADT will be responsible for the complete range of fire and security protection, by extending systems from the existing buildings as well as installing new concepts.

The CCTV systems will be extended to cover the new building, as well as intruder and access control networks. Steve Foster, general manager for ADT in Newcastle said: "We welcome the challenge to create bespoke solutions for a building containing items of such historical significance. This branch has a history of working with heritage attractions, therefore we fully understand the needs of the Trust.

"We will provide the museum with the full package from fire detection to security surveillance and the premises will also be monitored by ourselves. The team is looking forward to getting started on this challenging new project."
