Emma Tarran is correct in her statements about right to acquire, but she omitted one point

Right to acquire only applies where the home has been built or acquired with public funds since the 1996 Housing Act came into force, in April 1997. So more tenants do get right to acquire as time goes by, but those in older properties will have no such right.
