Accent Group, the new name for Bradford & Northern Housing Association, has signed a £7.5m deal with contractors to guarantee the upkeep of its properties for the next 10 years.
It has signed up with Rochdale-based painting contractor Lord Group, J&S Seddon and ICI Paints to ensure the good repair of Accent’s 18,000 properties.

The deal will mean the association can dispense with its current system, which involves 200 tenders and about 60 contracts with different maintenance providers each year. Accent could not say how much money it would save the association each year.

The news is the first to emerge from Accent since it launched its new identity at last week’s housing conference in Harrogate. The change reflects the organisation’s shift away from solely social housing provision.
