ABLOY SECURITY HAS LAUNCHED the Unican 5000 mechanical pushbutton lock to provide strong, simple, secure and effective access control without the need for any wiring, electronics or batteries.

Building on the design of the proven L1000 Series, the Unican 5000 offers end users many additional benefits. It’s pre-assembled to fit wooden or metal doors of 35 mm to 37 mm in thickness and is non-handed. The lever may be changed in seconds to suit right or left-handed doors.

The locks feature a direct drive, so there’s no need for a clutch mechanism (which decreases the possibility of internal breakage and subsequent linkage repairs). Furthermore, the locks can easily replace an existing 1000 and L1000 installation with the addition of just two screw holes in any door.

The Unican 5000 allows users to gain entry via a code of up to five digits tapped into a keypad.
