Having looked through a number of local government and housing association publications recently, it dawned on me that there has been a radical change: there now seems to be a complete absence of white men in any of these publications.
The pictures show women, disabled people, black and minority-ethnic households, older and young people, but no white men. Where have they all gone?
I’m not suggesting for one second that we should go back to the old-style publications, which were full of white men and families only, but it’s interesting that most councils and housing associations now consciously choose their photos to exclude a large group of people. Is this just a London thing?
