Perimeter protection

The security system designed by Bell Security for the Business Academy Bexley – the Government’s flagship Academy in Thamesmead – combines CCTV, access control (complete with smart card capabilities), external perimeter and intruder detection to capture and identify images of would-be intruders at the school’s premises.

Billed as the first “cradle to university” school in the UK, the Academy accommodates 1,350 11 to 18-year-old students but will go on to include a primary school and a nursery with crèche.

At the Academy, once images are captured a signal is then transmitted (via a Broadband link) to Bell’s 24/7 remote management centre such that monitoring staff can take the appropriate action.
