A piece of history: This totem pole celebrates the changes that have taken place at the Chattenden estate in Medway, Kent, and was the focus of the residents’ summer party last weekend. The Riverside Project, a charity, carved the pole from Thames driftwood. London & Quadrant Housing Association has spent £12m supporting improvements to the estate since 1996.
