No wonder clients get their budgets so disastrously wrong if BCIS is giving such inaccurate cost advice (Petrol enters the cost equation at the BCIS, QS News, 11 August), or has the cost of petrol rocketed even more since I last filled up?

With petrol at around £0.90 per litre, the application of that figure would provide a square metre rate of £0.90; a factor of 1,000 is needed to get the unit price up to the £900 which is “not far off current costs”.
