A democratic decision

I would like to clarify an important point relating to Anchor Trust’s decision to remunerate its board members and chairman (“Get your house in order”, 24 October, page 18). The decision was taken after due consideration by the board as a whole and was ratified at Anchor’s annual general meeting in September 2003.

I hope this clarifies any inaccurate perception caused by the article’s wording that the decision was taken by the chief executive alone.
