The capital will lose 7000 key workers each year for the next three years unless they are provided with affordable housing, research has warned.
New figures published by the Keep London Working partnership on Monday show that half the nurses and teachers who quit their London jobs leave for housing reasons.
The partnership includes five local authorities, three private developers and public sector employers. Its research will be worked up into a briefing pack in time for a conference this autumn.
Hattie Llewelyn-Davies, chair of Keep London Working, said: "Policymakers, employers and those delivering intermediate housing need to adopt new approaches if public services in London are not to suffer dramatic staff shortages."
