More than 500 ECA members have now registered under the association’s recently launched TrustMark scheme. Within the first month of the ECA becoming a scheme operator, it has seen a significant and rapid take-up and it expects to bring over 1500 Part P registered firms to TrustMark in the near future.

Director David Pollock, says: “These figures are extremely positive and highlight the level of investment that firms are putting into customer care by displaying their credentials.

“We are committed to assisting our members to deliver the highest quality, safe electrical installation to their customers. We believe that the TrustMark scheme provides contractors with a means of distinguishing their work from the rogue element within the industry.”

When a firm displays the TrustMark logo it signifies that:

  • its technical skills, trading record and financial position have been checked;
  • it has signed up to a code of practice that includes insurance, health and safety, and customer care;
  • there is a recognised complaints procedure;
  • there is an option to buy a warranty against business foreclosure.
