The Duraseal spacer system is an all-in-one composite product. The manufacturer, Tremco illbruck, claims many benefits of the system: It is easier to use than conventional aluminium alternatives, 50 per cent more thermally efficient, and offers considerable cost benefits during manufacture.

Duraseal is already well proven worldwide with more than 100 million IG units in service, it is claimed. Duraseal is now availabe in the UK from Tremco illbruck.

This ‘second generation’ warm edge spacer bar has been created by employing advanced laminating technology and innovative materials, creating a product that is both highly flexible and extremely durable.

At the heart of the low profile system is a structural sub-assembly that is stable enough to resist compression but can be bent around corners. It is covered by a moisture vapour barrier and a desiccated top coat that combine to keep the cavity dry, while the high performance adhesive on the sides helps retain argon in gas-filled units as well as excluding moisture.
