It's suitably dramatic stuff, with Multiplex bosses Ashley Muldoon and Matt Staag, who has since left the firm, justifying the firm's treatment of steel subbie Cleveland Bridge. Clevelands were "offensive" according to Stagg and ""held a gun to our head" according to Muldoon. No dull legalistic ponderings but straight to the point as to just why relations broke down so significantly between main and sub-contractor.

News from over the pond is finally some action at the Ground Zero site in New York. Nearly five years after the attacks on the World Trade Centre work has now started. A presentation was held this week, noticeably lacking the presence of original architect Danial Libeskind. The New York Time has unsurprisingly covered the story in great detail - www.nytimes.com.

Our industry is currently grappling with how much new regulations such as Part L will cost - here's the view from a man on the street attempting to junk his fossil fuel driven heating system for more sustainable solutions, and discovering that the alternatives - solar, windmill, geothermal pumps - are far from cost efficient.
