Many are predicting that 2007 will see the best the Glassex exhibition for years following the appointment of Dave Broxton as Head of Sales. Key changes and new features have since been introduced to reverse the decline in visitors and produce an exhibition worthy of the entire glazing industry.

New features include the Gold Club Lounge, Energy Efficiency Feature Area and a prize draw for £1,000 worth of DeWalt power tools for visitors that pre-register. The Conservatory Competition and seminar presentations for the public sector remain.

These improvements come on top of a high quality exhibitor list that sees the windows, doors and conservatory markets represented. There is some glass and architectural content at this year’s event, and the Glass Processing & Technology Show will be incorporated properly in 2008.

So will Glassex bounce back? Get along to the show to find out.

Glassex, 4-7 March, NEC Birmingham, see www.glassex.com

The 10th Glass Processing Days will bring together the views of four of the leading companies in the global glass industry at the same conference. The opening session speakers are Mr Arthur Ulens, President AGC Flat Glass and CEO Glaverbel, Mr Russell J. Ebeid, President, Glass Group, Guardian Industries Corp., Mr Tomoaki Abe, Vice Chairman, Nippon Sheet Glass and Mr Jacques Aschenbroich, Senior Vice President Saint-Gobain and President of the flat glass branch of Saint-Gobain.

The 2007 GPD Conference program follows its traditional objective of creating a forum for information sharing among specialists. The weight of practical case studies has been increased in order to make the Conference as practical and useful as possible.

The leading technical forum for the industry will end with the traditional farewell party.
