Now in its third year, 100% Detail continues to grow and attract more visitors. Running alongside 100% Design is clearly an advantage and many glass specialists, designers and artists exhibited at the show,
The third edition of 100% Detail, the innovative building design solutions exhibition held at Earls Court 1 from 22-25 September, was pronounced a great success by visitors, exhibitors and organisers alike.
With attendance figures up by 47%, the total visitor number over the four days from trade and professional visitors reached 22,133 this year, reflecting the exhibition's growing popularity among exhibitors and specifiers.
Following on from its success in 2004, 100% Detail has become an essential diary date for architects, engineers and specifiers, keen to source the best new products and solutions in a highly considered environment. Plans for 2006 are already underway with over 50% of next year's floorspace already sold.
With over 130 exhibitors from the UK and Europe displaying quality building products, services and solutions from offsite construction, solar protection, flooring and insulation to glass, curtain walling and architectural fabrics; a host of major product launches and industry innovations; seminars on renewable energy, offsite construction and futuristic materials – 100% Detail offered a wide range of things to do and see.
Innovations
Products on display from a large number of exhibitors included self-cleaning glass and acoustic safety glazing from manufacturer Saint-Gobain Glass.
Advice on architectural Planar Activ self cleaning range and the Planar SentryGlas Plus range, as well as Pyrodur fire-resistance glass was on hand at the Pilkington stand.
Schott showcased a number of their new developments including: integrated photovoltaic double glazed units (as also exhibited by Schüco, Romag and Glaswerke Arnold); floating lights within laminated flat glass and Pyranova and Pyran, a fire resistant glass and a fire rated butt joint glazing system respectively, each with up to 60 minutes integrity.
LJ Pratley & Partners had its automated smoke and natural ventilation systems on show while Bohle’s new Iberian range and Kawneer’s curtain walling technology also made for interesting and imaginative stands.
100% Design
Next door at 100% Design, a number of decorative glass, interior partitioning and glass specialists also had stands.
Haran Glass showcased its G05 award-winning National Police Memorial project, a commission for British American Tobacco’s marketing suite in Aylesbury, as well as the huge Borealis sculpture that sits in the lobby of the Renaissance Centre in Detroit Michigan, HQ of General Motors.
Mykon Products and Henry Glass had their floor and partitioning designs on show.
And on the decorative side, Juicy Glass, Jo Downs Glass Design and Anthony Stern Glass had some eye-catching vases, sculptures and decorative pieces on display.
Italian firm Sicis displayed its range of coloured glass tiles and the Sicisbrick collection.
