Representatives of JTL will be promoting careers in the building services industry to 14-16 year olds in Medway, Kent as part of their roles in the Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) Programme.
JTL’s operations director John Rogers and school projects officer Nigel Buckhurst will be supporting extra-curricular activities such as awards and clubs; addressing school groups about careers in the electrical and plumbing sectors; supporting careers guidance and acting as role models.
The initiative is co-ordinated by the Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics Network, a UK-wide charity that promotes awareness of science and related disciplines among young people. Rogers says: “Taking part in the SEAs project is a great way to encourage more interest in the industry, while also providing guidance to young people who are at a key stage in their education and development.
“Should the project prove successful, JTL may well extend its involvement to other areas of the country.”
