Scheme includes redevelopment of two hospitals in Central Nottinghamshire as well as facilities management at Newark Hospital.
Skanska Innisfree has been named preferred bidder on a £265 million Central Nottinghamshire PFI healthcare scheme.
The 30-year PFI will include the design, build, financing, and operation of a major hospital development for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust and Mansfield District Primary Care Trust.

Full planning permission has already been granted to Skanska Innisfree’s proposals and financial close for the scheme is anticipated in March 2005. The project will involve redevelopment of King’s Mill Acute Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital, as well as the facilities management of Newark Hospital.
Advance works will start at the end of 2004, while main construction will begin in April 2005 with the completion of 60% of all new ward accommodation expected by the end of 2008 and total completion of the scheme by the end of 2009. The hospitals designed by architect Swanke Hayden Connell will provide 920 beds and have a built area of 120,000sq m.
