Construction arm of property giant Brookfield rebrands
Contractor Brookfield Multiplex is dropping Brookfield from its name to trade as just Multiplex.
The firm - which is building a raft of major UK schemes, including 22 Bishopsgate, which it has emerged could be delayed - will remain part of Canada-based property giant Brookfield.
A Brookfield spokesperson said: “This is a time for us to rebrand and to ensure our own unique construction identity both within the Brookfield group and with our external stakeholders as a global construction business.
“Aside from our name and logo changing, it’s business as usual. There are no operational or organisational changes being made.”
In results for the 2015 calendar year, Multiplex’s UK arm more than doubled revenue to £620m, up from £284m the previous year, while pre-tax profit quadrupled to £21.9m, up from £5.4m.
Multiplex is also building a £150m hospital for sick children in Edinburgh (pictured), which this month it emerged is running six months behind schedule due to the collapse of two subcontractors, bad weather and “unavoidable” technical problems.
