Construction group Carillion wins £1.5bn contract to redevelop and run a military facility in Northwood, west London.
Construction group Carillion and its joint venture partner HSBC Infrastructure Fund Management have won a £1.5bn contract to redevelop and run a military facility in Northwood, west London.
The contract to develop the 43-acre site will be worth £800m to Carillion over 25 years.
The project will see the group redevelop, manage and operate the Northwood headquarters, home of the chief of joint operations.
As part of the project, Carillion will develop fully serviced accommodation for the 2000 people who work at the site.
The company will carry out the £150m construction programme over five years, as well as providing a range of support services worth £440m over the 25-year contract.
The contract follows Carillion’s success in securing the Ministry of Defence’s £12bn Allenby Connaught project to redevelop accommodation at barracks in Salisbury and Aldershot.
