Building Prize Draw Terms & Conditions

If you spot Hansom on the Building website (http://www.building.co.uk/) during 17 May 2013 to 22 May 2013 then simply email your name, address and contact number together with the page link on which you spotted Hansom to hansom@ubm.com for a chance to win either a Kindle Fire, a trip to the Shard or a bag of Building goodies (the “Prize Draw”).

These Terms and Conditions (as amended from time to time) (the “Terms”) together with our privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) apply to the Prize Draw and govern the relationship between UBM Information Limited of Ludgate House 245 Blackfriars Road, London SE1 (“UBM” “We” or “Us”) and you. UBM is the promoter of this Prize Draw.

By entering the Prize Draw, you agree that you accept these Terms.

It is important that you read and understand both the Terms and the Privacy Policy (see link below).  If you have any questions relating to either the Terms or the Privacy Policy please contact the Building team on ubmidpa@ubm.com.

These standard terms and conditions are subject to any other terms and conditions provided to you or to which you are referred at the time of entering the Prize Draw.

Opening and Closing Dates

1.     The Prize Draw will run from 00.01am (GMT) on 17 May 2013 (the “Opening Date”) and shall close at 11.59pm (GMT) on 22 May 2013 (the “Closing Date”). The period from the Opening Date to the closing Date shall be referred to as the “Open Period”.

2.     No entries will be valid after the Closing Date.

Who Can Enter

3.     The Prize Draw is open to residents of the England, Wales and Scotland.

4.     Entrants must be at least 18 years of age.

5.     The Prize Draw is not open to any employee or staff member (and their families) of the UBM group of companies, any agents or related third parties who are directly connected with the administration of the Prize Draw.

6.     Only natural persons will be entered into the Prize Draw (i.e. entries will not be accepted from companies or businesses). 

7.     Only one entry will be permitted per person. Multiple entries will be deemed invalid.

8.     No purchase is necessary to enter

9.     To enter email your name, address and contact number together with the page link on which you spotted Hansom to hansom@ubm.com.

The Prizes and Claiming Prizes

10.  There are only three prizes available.

11.  The prizes are:

a.     a Kindle Fire;

b.     Two tickets to the Shard; and

c.     a selection of Building Goodies including a branded Moleskine and travel mug

(together the “Prizes” and individually a “Prize”). 

12.  The Prize Draw will have three winners who will be selected at random by an independent party from all correct entries as at the closing date.

13.  The Prizes will be allocated to the winners on the following basis:

a.     the first winner selected shall win a Kindle Fire;

b.     the second winner selected shall win two tickets to the London Bridge Tower; and

c.     the third winner selected shall win a selection of Building goodies

14.  The winners will be notified by email within 14 days of 22 May 2013 and shall be required to provide a delivery address within the England, Wales or Scotland.

15.  UBM will pay for each Prize to be sent to the relevant winner’s nominated delivery addresses by Royal Mail Special Delivery within 28 days of receipt of the winner’s nominated delivery address.

16.  Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged and there is no cash alternative to a Prize.

17.  UBM reserves the absolute right to substitute any Prize for another prize of equal or greater value should the need arise.

18.  UBM accepts no responsibility for any Prize being lost, damaged or delayed in the post.

19.  If any Prize is unclaimed after reasonable efforts have been made to contact the winner, after 14 days UBM reserves the right to conduct another draw to determine a new winner without any liability to the original winner for doing so.

General Terms

20.  UBM shall not be responsible for any late, lost, incomplete, illegible, damaged or misdirected entries and all such entries will not be valid for the Prize Draw.

21.  UBM reserve the right, at their discretion, to exclude you and withhold the Prize if you do not comply with any of these Terms.

22.  To the maximum extent permitted by law, under no circumstances shall UBM or any of its affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential losses, whether arising in contract, tort or otherwise, or any other losses or damages whatsoever including, without limitation, damages to any electronic device, loss of use of device, loss of data, business or profits in each case arising out of any entrants’ participation in the Prize Draw, whether directly or indirectly.

23.  Notwithstanding any provision of these Terms, nothing in these Terms shall exclude or restrict either party’s liability for fraud or death or personal injury resulting from its own negligence or any other liability which may not by law be excluded or restricted.

24.  UBM may cancel the Prize Draw or amend or waive any provision of these Terms at any time if it becomes necessary to do so. Any variation will become effective at the time we post the revised Terms on our website.

25.  The winners agree to take part in any post-promotion publicity in connection with the Prize Draw which UBM may reasonably request.

26.  We are committed to maintaining the security of your personal information in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is kept secure against unauthorised access, loss, disclosure or destruction.

27.  The UBM Privacy Policy – http://privacypolicy.ubm.com will apply whenever you provide us with personal information and is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

28.  Except as required by law, or in accordance with these Terms and the UBM Privacy Policy, your personal information will not be passed to any other person without your permission.

29.  UBM’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

30.  Confirmation of the winners of the Prizes can be obtained within 28 days of the Closing Date by contacting us at phil.clark@ubm.com.

31.  These terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
